We are in the Southern Queensland & Northern New South Wales Region, and are only a 15 minutes scenic drive from Tweed Heads.

Set 300m up in the Tweed Hinterland looking west to Mt. Warning with a northerly aspect and cool sea breezes on 65 acres.

We have lived here at Carool since 1980, have raised a large family while trying many different agricultural exploits, Beef Cattle, Arab Horses, growing Lychees, Mangoes, and Custard Apples, until in 2004 Dennis bought me two wether alpacas for my 50th birthday, now our four legged family has grown to 60 and counting.

To our delight we found the wethers did well, so decided to sell our herd of cattle and horses and purchase our first group of females and stud muffin in 2006. Since then we have put in place our fencing, laneways, sheds and infrastructure and outsourced quality genetics to build up our herd.

In 2007 we ventured into the show ring for only one show that year, with some encouraging results from our first progeny. It confirmed our research, as to the importance of selecting quality bloodlines.

Living so close to the Queensland border meant a Q Alpaca status was essential to be able to travel with relative ease, so showing our pride and joys began in earnest in 2008.

Our stud is in its fledgling years and we have encountered many challenges, which we have met with enthusiasm, and are grateful to those other breeders who took us under there wings and guided us in these few short years.

Our herd at Humminghills has now grown to a size where we have animals for sale throughout the year. We have a choice of quality pregnant females, maidens, potential stud males,and some superfine gentle young wethers as pets or older  for guards of various colours for sale.

We have now ventured into the delightful Suris, which in 2010 brought us the joy of 7 Supreme ribbons from our first progeny Humminghills Oliver Twist, with the peak of his winning streak being the 2010 Charles Ledger. Oliver is now starting his stud duties at the extremely early age of 23months and is very happy with his new role. He is available for drive by stud duties by appointment.

We remain committed to the continuing improvement of a genuine quality herd of superior alpacas, sourcing the advancing improvements made by the industry and helping and encouraging those who would choose to share our passion.
